Makkah- Muslims from around the world gathered in Makkah on Wednesday morning to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr in an atmosphere of safety and devotion.

The Grand Mosque in Makkah saw millions of worshipers performing the Eid prayers, while other mosques in different parts of the Kingdom were full of devotees who completed their fasting in the holy month.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz performed Eid prayers along with huge numbers of worshipers at the Grand Mosque. The Saudi Press Agency reported that courtyards surrounding the Grand Mosque were also full.

Prince Faisal Bin Turki Bin Abdullah, Prince Bandar Bin Muhammad Bin Abdulrahman, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah Province and adviser to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; and Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, as well as other princes and Muslim dignitaries from many Muslim countries also performed the Eid prayer with the King.

Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam and former Lebanese Premier Saad Hariri have also performed Eid prayers with King Salman.
Sheikh Saleh Bin Abdullah Bin Humaid led the prayers at the Grand Mosque.

Prince Faisal bin Salman, the Emir of Madinah Province, joined over a million worshippers in Madinah, to perform Eid prayers in the Prophet’s Mosque.

The Eid prayer was led by Imam and Khateeb of the Prophet’s Mosque Sheikh Abdulbari Al-Thubaiti, who thanked Allah Almighty for enabling Muslims to complete fasting in the holy month and perform prayers with devotion and peace of mind.

Sheikh Al-Thubaiti said Muslims were shocked and confused by the violent incidents in the City of the Prophet. He said what took place in Madinah and other painful incidents elsewhere were due to an amassing of the means of death and destruction. He stressed that these were ugly and heinous crimes perpetrated by a group “that has dropped glorifying Allah Almighty from its dictionary.”

Four security officers were killed and other injured in a terrorist attack at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah on Monday. Suicide blasts also struck two other Saudi cities on Monday.
