Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Patronizes Closing Ceremony of King Abdulaziz Festival for Camels and Launches Saudi Village for Camels (SPA)


Rawdhat Khuraim – Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz received at Rawdhat Khuraim in Riyadh Region King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Kingdom of Bahrain; Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah; Chairman of Board of Trustees of Zayed Foundation for Humanitarian Works and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Sports Council in the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Qatari Olympic Committee Sheikh Joa’n bin Hamad Al Thani and Omani Minister of Sports Affairs Sheikh Saad bin Mohammed Al-Saadi, who came to attend the closing ceremony of King Abdulaziz Festival for Camels.

During the meeting, King Salman welcomed the leaders and representatives of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States and their accompanying delegations in their country. He then held a luncheon banquet in honor of the leaders and GCC representatives.

Earlier, the representatives of leaders of GCC for Arab States arrived in Riyadh to attend King Abdulaziz Festival for Camels.

They were received at King Khalid International Airport by Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, GCC ambassadors, and a number of officials.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques patronized on Thursday the closing ceremony of King Abdulaziz Festival for Camels (1438H – 2017) in Southern Siahed in Dahana Desert which is about 140 kilometers northeast of Riyadh.

The festival was launched on March 19 and aimed at boosting the nation’s cultural heritage and raising the awareness of the coming generations on the importance of the Gulf traditions and heritage.

This year’s festival included various cultural and entertainment activities, as well as auctions for camels.

Upon arrival, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his guests were received by Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, and a number of officials.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques was accompanied by Prince Abdul Ilah bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, Prince Mansour bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, and a number of princes.

The Custodian was briefed on the project of Saudi Village for Camels after which he launched the village.

Later, the winners of King Abdulaziz Festival for Camels were announced and they were honored by King Salman and received their prizes.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the guests watched a historical play titled “Camels are Civilization” which celebrates the culture and way of life of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Bedouin traditions.

The play was followed by the performance of Saudi Aradah, a type of folkloric dance in Saudi Arabia.

The ceremony was attended by a number of princes, ministers, civil and military senior officials and a group of citizens.
