Jeddah-Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud welcomed on Sunday U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah.

The two parties discussed aspects of cooperation between their two countries and the latest developments in the region.

The meeting was attended by U.S. Ambassador in Riyadh Joseph Westphal and Chief of Staff and Director of Policy Planning at the U.S. Department of State Jon Finer.

On the other hand, Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa sent a letter to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and was delivered to the King by Bahraini Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Sheikh Hamoud bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, who was received in Jeddah on Sunday.

The two meetings were attended by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, first deputy prime minister and the minister of interior; Dr. Adel al-Turaifi, minister of culture and information; Adel al-Jubeir, minister of foreign affairs; Khaled al-Issa, minister of State, member of the Cabinet, and head of the Royal Court; in addition to a number of officials.
