Jeddah – Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz congratulated on Friday French President-elect Emmanuel Macron on his victory in Sunday’s elections.

He expressed in a telephone call with Macron Saudi Arabia’s eagerness to cooperate with France to achieve global peace and stability.

He also hoped to bolster historic and strategic ties with France in various fields.

For his part, Macron thanked King Salman for his support to France and its people, stressing in turn keenness to develop bilateral ties in all fields and working with Riyadh on regional and international issues.

Later on Friday, King Salman sent a cable of congratulations to newly-elected South Korean President Moon Jae-in for his victory in Tuesday’s polls.

He expressed his congratulations in his name and that of the Saudi people, wishing the South Korean people further progress and prosperity.

Crown Prince and Interior Minister Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz and deputy Crown Prince and Defense Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz each sent similar cables of congratulations to Moon.
