Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman led funeral prayers for Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh (SPA)


Riyadh – Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman led funeral prayer for Prince Turki Bin Abdul Aziz after Asr prayer at Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh on Saturday.

Prince Turki died in Riyadh early on Saturday, a statement from the royal court published by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said. Born in 1934, Prince Turki studied at Princes’ School. He was deputy minister of defense from 1969 to 78.

The funeral prayer was performed by Prince Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; Prince Abdulilah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; Prince Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; and Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The funeral prayer was also performed by Prince Khalid bin Fahd bin Khalid; Prince Bandar bin Abdullah bin Abdulrahman; Prince Abdullah bin Musaed bin Abdulrahman; Prince Mohammed bin Saad bin Abdulaziz; Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Faisal; Prince Mansour bin Saud bin Abdulaziz; Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region; Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud; Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Abdulrahman; Prince Saad bin Abdullah bin Turki; Prince Mohammed bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jazan Region; Prince Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed; Prince Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz; Prince Saud bin Saad bin Abdulaziz; Prince Abdulrahman Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal; Prince Turki bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz; Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz; Prince Khalid bin Saad bin Abdulaziz; Prince Saud bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz; Prince Saud bin Musaed bin Abdulaziz; Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Mohammed; Prince Badr bin Abdulmohsen bin Abdulaziz; Prince Talal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz; Prince Khalid bin Saad bin Fahd; Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz; Prince Abdulrahman bin Saud Al-Kabeer; Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Minister of National Guard; Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to the United Kingdom; Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Asir Region; Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Musaed; Prince Sattam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz; Prince Nawaf bin Mohammed bin Abdulrahman; Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage; Prince Mohammed bin Mishari bin Abdulaziz; and Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Eastern Region.

The funeral prayer was also performed by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior; and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense; and a number of princes.

Following the funeral prayer, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques received condolences on the death of Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz Al Saud from princes, officials and citizens.

Also, Prince Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; Prince Abdulilah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; Prince Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; and Prince Khalid bin Turki bin Abdulaziz; Prince Fahd bin Turki bin Abdulaziz; Prince Faisal bin Turki bin Abdulaziz; Prince Sultan bin Turki bin Abdulaziz; Prince Abdulrahman bin Turki bin Abdulaziz; and Prince Ahmad bin Turki bin Abdulaziz, received condolences on the death of Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz Al Saud from princes and senior officials.

The King and other leaders also attended the burial of Prince Turki at Al-Oud Cemetery.
King Salman received condolences after Maghreb prayer on Saturday at his palace. The condolences will be received on Sunday and Monday also, the Royal Court said in a statement.

King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; Prince Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region; Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage; Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior; Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense; and sons of the deceased participated in the burial of the body of Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, praying to Allah Almighty to bless his soul.

Meanwhile, EFE Spanish news agency reported that Spanish King Felipe VI has postponed his three-day official visit to the Kingdom following the death of Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz. The visit was to begin today.

The Spanish Deputy Chief of Mission told Arab News that the next date of visit will be announced later.

The embassy had earlier said King Felipe VI’s was to hold talks with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on a wide range of bilateral, regional and international issues.

Felipe VI, who will be accompanied by a high-level business delegation, was also scheduled to hold consultations with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
