Riyadh – Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz received in Riyadh on Monday Afghani President Mohammed Ashraf Ghani.

The monarch welcomed the president in the Kingdom, while Ghani expressed happiness to meet with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, thanking him for the warm welcome and generous hospitality accorded to him and the accompanying delegation.

Ghani and the delegation were in Saudi Arabia to take part in the weekend’s Arab-Islamic-US summit.

During the meeting, they reviewed the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

The meeting was attended by Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet, and Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Mansour bin Miteb bin Abdulaziz, Minister of the National Guard Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet Musaed bin Mohammed al-Aiban, Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed al-Jubeir, Minister of Finance Mohammed bin Abdullah al-Jadaan and the official delegation accompanying the Afghani president.

Later, King Salman received at his palace in Riyadh Malaysian Prime Minister Mohammed Najib Abdul Razzaq and hosted a luncheon in his honor.

The Custodian also received a cable of thanks from the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah. In the cable, the emir expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to him and accompanying delegation during the meetings held in Riyadh.

The emir praised the GCC-US summit and the fruitful results it achieved, hoping it will lead to enhancing security and stability. He also lauded the results of the Arab-Islamic-US Summit, hoping that it will lead to the spread of tolerance and peace in the region.

Later, King Salman departed Riyadh for Jeddah where he was received by a number of princes and officials.
