Riyadh- Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz has sent a cable of congratulations to Antonio Guterres on the occasion of his selection as Secretary-General of the United Nations.

The King wished him success in the performance of his duties to achieve peace, security and stability for the world.

The King stressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s keenness to continue shouldering its regional and international responsibilities and its intention to support the United Nations’ efforts.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, sent cables of congratulations to the newly assigned U.N. secretary general as well.
