Doha, Riyadh- Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman visited Doha on Monday to offer his condolence after the death of Qatar’s Former Ruler Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al-Thani.

Upon his arrival to Doha Airport, he was received by Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani; Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Personal Representative of the Emir; Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al Thani, the Premier and Minister of Interior; Sheikh Juaan bin Hamad Al Thani; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Thani; Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani; Saudi Ambassador to Qatar Abdullah Al-Ayfan and a number of senior, civil and military officials.

The king was accompanied by Prince Khaled bin Fahd bin Khaled; Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz; Prince Mansour bin Saud bin Abdulaziz; Prince Talal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz; Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed; Prince Sattam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz; Prince Dr. Hussam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz; Prince Dr. Abdulaziz bin Sattam bin Abdulaziz, advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; Prince Faisal bin Khaled bin Sultan bon Abdulaziz, advisor in the Royal Court; prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, advisor in the Royal Court; Prince Ahmed bin Fahd bin Salman bin Abdulaziz; Prince Turki bin Salman bin Abdulaziz; and Prince Rakan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.

King Salman expressed sincere condolences to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar on the death of late Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, he offered condolences to Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, praying to God to bestow mercy upon the late and to provide them with patience and consolation.

The King also offered condolences to Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, Vice Emir of Qatar; Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Khalifa Al Thani; Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani; Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani and Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa Al Thani.

For his part, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani expressed utmost thanks and appreciation of the King for consoling them on losing the late Sheikh.

The Qatari Emir, meanwhile, expressed his “utmost appreciation” for the king, “prayed to God to prolong, forever, the brotherly relations binding the two fraternal countries and peoples.”

Earlier on Monday, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud sent a cable of condolences to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on the death of late Emir of Qatar Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani.

The King said in his cable: “I received with deep sorrow the news of the passing away of Emir Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, God mercy bestowed on him. As I sent to your highness and the family our warmest heartily condolences and sincere consolation, I pray to God that He may bestow mercy and forgiveness upon him and provide you with patience.”

For his part, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior sent a cable of condolences to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on the death of late Emir of Qatar Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani.

The Crown Prince wrote: “I received with deep sorrow the news of the passing away of Emir Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, God mercy bestowed on him. I send to your highness and the family heartily condolences and sincere consolation, praying to God to bestow mercy upon him and make the paradise his abode.”

Moreover, Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense also sent a cable of condolences to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on the death of late Emir of Qatar Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani.

The Deputy Crown Prince wrote: “I received with deep sorrow the news of the passing away of Emir Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, God mercy bestowed on him. I send to your highness and the family heartily condolences, I’m praying to God to bestow mercy upon him and provide you with patience.”
