Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques chairs 46th meeting of Board of Directors of King Abdulaziz Foundation (SPA)


Riyadh– The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired at al-Yamamah Palace on Wednesday the 46th meeting of the Board of Directors of King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah).

At the outset of the meeting, the King commended the Foundation’s role in documenting the history of the Arabian Peninsula and interest in its various sources within its efforts in the service of the national history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its programs and projects implemented in this aspect, and its efforts to promote cooperation and agreements with similar centers in the Kingdom and abroad.

The Board discussed topics on its agenda and issued a number of decisions related to the work of King Abdulaziz Foundation, including the approval of holding the scientific symposium on the Arabian Peninsula and classical sources within its interest in documenting the ancient history of the Arabian Peninsula and its sources.

The Board also approved the list of Advisory Commission of King Abdulaziz Foundation and its members, as well as the final accounts for the fiscal years 1435 H / 1436 H and 1436 H / 1437 H, and the account of the Foundation’s fund for the year 1437 AH / 2015 AD.

The King commended the Foundation’s role in documenting the history of the Arabian Peninsula.

The King received Ambassador of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Jamal Hamid al-Shamayleh who bade farewell to the King on the occasion of the end of his tenure as his country’s ambassador to the Kingdom.

The audience was attended by Minister of State, Cabinet’s Member and Acting Minister of Culture and Information Essam bin Saad bin Said and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Nizar bin Obaid Madani.
