Bamako- Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al Jubeir has recently kicked off the second part of his African tour, which will be seeing a number of states.

Jubeir had arrived on Wednesday in the Malian capital Bamako, which is wedged between two Arab states, Algeria and Mauritania. He was received by Mali’s Minister of Expatriates Dr. Abdulrahman Silas.

The two discussed bilateral relations, in addition to the latest regional and international developments, in the framework of the coordination and consultation between the two countries.

The FM’s meetings highlighted bilateral ties and regional topics at large, discussing current regional and international cases. Efforts on counterterrorism were also conferred at the meetings.

Jubeir had also conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz to the President and the Government and people of the Republic of Mali.

For his part, the President of Mali also expressed his deep appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Moreover, Jubeir had met with the President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama earlier on Tuesday at the Accra presidential palace.

Hannah Tetteh, Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, also held bilateral meetings in Accra with Jubeir.

Tetteh stated that the aim of the meeting was to attend efforts on strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

Jubeir also reechoed that their meeting was to deepen economic cooperation and to strengthen other areas of cooperation.

The brief meeting was attended by government officials from both sides.

Jubeir had embarked on a tour February through March earlier this year which saw him visiting Ethiopia, Sudan, South Africa, Zambia, Kenya and Tanzania.

The considerable Saudi attention directed to African states is a part of sizing down Iranian influence abroad, after having Tehran exploit impoverished areas in Africa.

Feeding of the economic dire situation in Africa, Iran’s expansionist agenda worked on creating backing parties and sponsoring social groups to later employ them as proxies.

Jubeir made an official stop for Senegal, where he was received by President Macky Sall.

For his part, the President sent his greetings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Kingdom’s Government and people.

During the meeting, they discussed issues of common interest, in addition to means of enhancing relations between the two countries in various fields.

In a press conference following the meeting, Jubeir lauded the exceptional bilateral affairs shared between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Dakar over the decades.

Jubeir had arrived at Dakar Airport where he was received by Senegalese Minister of Armed Forces and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Augustin Tine. The two counterparts also held a session discussing ties shared by the two countries.
