Dubai – United Arab Emirates State Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Anwar Gargash said that the crisis with Qatar highlights the role Saudi Arabia plays in the Gulf region.

He said that Riyadh will continue to play a central role in the area, underlining the role of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in the crisis.

Their management “of the crisis has brought together patience and a firm stance. They were able to distinguish between a political dispute with a government that conspired against Riyadh and religious and humanitarian responsibilities,” said the minister in a number of posts on Twitter.

“Sooner or later, it will become clear that you will be treated the same way you treated your neighbors as we all live in glass houses. Your neighbor will be patient, but he will not forget the conspiring,” he added.

Gargash warned that the crisis is ongoing and it may even expand and escalate.

He therefore urged Qatar to seriously address the issue and give way to wisdom and reason because it is waging a “losing battle.”

Furthermore, he tweeted that the wisdom and firmness of King Salman should encourage every reasonable individual and “we advise those with good intentions that the solution to the crisis lies in Riyadh and not in chasing windmills.”
