Riyadh – Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz received at his palace in Riyadh on Wednesday former King of Spain Juan Carlos.

At the outset of the meeting, the former Spanish King shook hands with Saudi officials and princes who were present at the meeting, before attending a luncheon banquet held in his honor by King Salman.

The reception and banquet were held in the presence of Prince Khalid bin Fahd bin Khalid; Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh region; and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, deputy prime minister and interior minister, as well as other high-ranking officials.

The former Spanish monarch and his accompanying delegation arrived in Riyadh on Monday on a private visit to Saudi Arabia.

At King Salman Airbase, he was received by Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, and a number of senior officials.

Earlier this year, King Felipe VI made a three-day state visit to Riyadh to build a strong relationship between Saudi Arabia and Spain.
