Madinah–Prince Faisal Bin Salman, Emir of Madinah, announced on Wednesday that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman is keen on the completion of the expansion of the Prophet’s Mosque (Masjid Nabawi) and its associated projects in Madinah.

The emir said that the King is closely following up the procedures prior to the expansion of Islam’s second holy mosque.

Prince Faisal said that the committee assigned to this project will announce the latest achievements soon after all adequate measures have been taken.

During his meeting with members of the Madinah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Prince Faisal said: “The committee … is completing its work, the details of which will be announced soon.”

On behalf of the people of Madinah, Prince Faisal thanked King Salman for his transcendent services to Islam and Muslims as well as to the Two Holy Mosques and the pilgrims and visitors to the mosques.

Meanwhile, Prince Faisal launched the second phase of the governorate’s electronic services of “Absher” platform with 33 electronic services, 18 of which are for citizens and 15 for residents.

Prince Faisal said the electronic platform is aimed at enabling beneficiaries in the region to follow up on their transactions easily. He asked officials to meet people and hear their complaints, saying that doors are open to anyone.

As per directions of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, the new electronic applications are aimed at accelerating and presenting swift services based on new technologies.

Prince Faisal expressed gratitude to Maj. Gen. Tariq al-Shiddi, director of the National Information Center; Abdulrahman al-Jadhai, executive director of Alam Company, and other officials for their efforts in the development of the electronic services of the governorate.
