Riyadh- The Council of Senior Scholars in Saudi Arabia has warned of calls that aim at causing tension among Islamic groups, stressing that any act that serves this purpose is not linked to the message of Prophet Mohammed who was inspired by this Quran verse “As for those who sunder their religion and become schismatic, no concern at all hast thou with them. Their case will go to Allah, who then will tell them what they used to do.”

The council issued a statement on Thursday to comment on the conclusion of the recently held conference in Chechnya. The statement stressed that the Islamic nation is one and that dividing it into different parties and groups would be catastrophic.

“Lecturers and preachers might have different points of view and diverse pieces of evidence, which means their conclusions will not be similar. Yet, this should not be a reason for tension except for some who don’t have good intentions,” the council stated.

The council highlighted the huge responsibility of anyone who decides to become a preacher, the responsibility of words and unity unlike those who wish to see disparity in the Islamic nation. The council advised to use the current crises in the benefit of unity and the reinforcement of confidence in culture, intellect and education leaders.

“It is no time for blaming and we should be more aware that some (sides) want to transform our crises into political and sectarian tension. Let’s unite and focus on the common points in a loving environment,” added that statement.
