Grozny- Chechen President Ramadan Qadirof said that Chechnya has a long-term relation with Saudi Arabia and this relation will not be affected by the international changes.
Qadirof told Asharq al-Awsat that the relation with the Saudi leadership and people is a solid one.
The Chechen President asserted that his prospective visit to Saudi Arabia will tackle a wide scope of topics, majorly the economy, investments, education, culture and other humanitarian and religious matters.
Commenting on Grozny Conference, Qadirof said that the conference focused mainly on uniting the Muslims’ efforts to combat extremism and terrorism which were fought fiercely by Saudi Arabia. He expressed high confidence in the Kingdom’s fight against terrorists and rejected claims that the conference fanned division among Muslims.
“We will never accept to carry out any actions in Grozny if they might be a reason for division among Muslims…Any claims that say other than that are made by our enemies,” he said.
Speaking of the possibility of stepping aside from his position as a president, he showed no objection to do that and dedicate his efforts to tackle matters that are of higher importance to the Chechen people.
“Results of the latest elections in Chechnya were in my favor and this means that people wish that I remain in the authority and has confidence in me,” Qadirof said.
He affirmed that he will exert tremendous efforts to achieve the hopes and aspirations of the people, along with the support provided by the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
