Riyadh, Asharq Al-Awsat- Saudi security services found yesterday the body of a Saudi security officer who was murdered at his holiday home in Al-Qasim Region, northeast of Riyadh.

Interior Ministry Official Spokesman Major General Mansur al-Turki has stressed that security services have started investigating the circumstances of the death of the security officer in Al-Qasim to find out more about the causes of the crime and arrest the perpetrators.

In a statement to Asharq al-Awsat, Major General Al-Turki said he preferred not jump into conclusions about the crime until all the necessary investigations into this case are completed.

Sources have told Asharq al-Awsat, however, that the victim was a colonel in charge of operations at one of the security services of Al-Qasim.

People who knew the victim have been talking about him being found murdered in his holiday home with his head severed from his body. However, there is no confirmation of this information so far.
