Taiz-The Yemeni legitimate forces have liberated Al-Sarari region in Taiz after months of clashes with the Houthi militias and Saleh’s forces. Near the village, government forces found a barrack used as a weapons depot and as a base to train insurgents based on the Iranian ideology.

Colonel Mansour Al Hassani, spokesperson for the Military Council in Taiz, told Asharq Al-Awsat that militias have lost one of their strategic castles, which had been captured by a group of Houthis and militia members coming from Saada.

Government forces insisted on liberating this region due to its strategic location, which will ease the flow of humanitarian and medical aid and will facilitate the passage of food packages to the cities of Saber and Taiz.

Hassani continued that legitimate forces have seized different kinds of weapons and heavy arms. He added that 30 Houthi militants, who used to intimidate Sarari’s residents, were also arrested and that the city has resumed its stability and calmness.

The legitimate forces have also succeeded in liberating the government complex, the medical dispensary, Khaled Ibn al Walid School, and Jamaleddine Mosque in Sarari.

Following the liberation, the village’s residents celebrated the victory, welcomed the government forces and the popular resistance fighters and greeted them for their efforts in bringing back peace to the area.

Colonel Mohammad al-Mahmoudi, head of the military council in Wahdanan, Sabr said that the army and resistance forces succeeded in securing the whole Sarari region. He added that the clearing operations are ongoing, yet all Saber’s mountains are now under the legitimate forces’ control and that the southern side of the city is secured. Mahmoudi noted that the militias hysterically bombed residential neighborhoods in Taiz, killed many civilians and caused material losses. The continuous clashes in surrounding regions are also compelling scores of families to leave their homes on a daily basis.

On the other hand, Dr. Ahmed Obeid bin Daghr, the Yemeni prime minister, has directed the concerned authorities to rehabilitate a number of hospitals in Taiz governorate and to transport 100 wounded soldiers from the government forces and the popular resistance to be treated abroad as part of a grant introduced by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and supreme commander of armed forces.

The PM’s directives came during a meeting with Taiz’s governor and the governorate’s Committee for Wounded, where he listened to their remarks on providing treatment for people suffering from severe injuries and to secure needed medical equipment and medication to local hospitals.

According to Saba News Agency (SABA), the Prime Minister said that the government will take care of martyrs’ families who sacrificed their souls to protect their motherland and people, while confronting aggressive insurgents.

Bin Daghr has greeted Saudi Arabia and the King Salman Humanitarian and Relief Center, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and the other Gulf countries for the aid they provide to the Yemeni people and particularly to the wounded.
