JERUSALEM, (AP)- A rocket fired from Lebanon struck northern Israel overnight, police said Tuesday. It was the second rocket attack on Israel from Lebanon since the summer 2006 war with Hezbollah guerrillas.

No injuries were reported in either case, though the rocket that fell in June caused minor damage.

There was no claim of responsibility for the latest attack.

During the 2006 war, Lebanese Hezbollah guerrillas bombarded northern Israel with nearly 4,000 rockets.

Gabi Neeman, a resident of the northern Israeli town of Shlomi, told Army Radio that three rockets landed in the community around 2 a.m. Residents originally thought they heard thunder, but when they woke up, they discovered the rockets, Neeman said.

Police sappers have been dispatched to the area, and only one rocket landing has been confirmed, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said.
