Ramallah- Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the PLO Saeb Erekat announced on Sunday that the Palestinian authority is holding talks with US President Donald Trump’s administration at different levels.

In a news conference in Ramallah, Erekat said that the Palestinian party has not stopped contacting the new US administration since January 20, according to a German news agency.

Erekat pointed out that Head of the Palestinian intelligence service, Maj. Gen. Majid Faraj held talks and met earlier with his counterparts in the United States, then the Head of CIA met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah.

He added: “We will deal with Trump’s administration very positively regarding the two-state solution.”

The Palestinian authority has delivered messages to the US administration that Palestine is part of the war against terrorism and whoever wants to eradicate terrorism and terrorist around the world should start with destructing the highest form of terrorism, which is Israel, Erekat said.

“We will not anticipate events regarding President Trump, but we will study all these phenomena, try to assemble and analyze them to figure out what will happen next.”

Erekat also urged Trump to adhere to the principle of the two-state solution to achieve peace and settle the Palestinian cause.

He accused the Israeli government of implementing an occupational project on Palestinian lands to destroy the Palestinian national identity in order to perpetuate the occupation and undermine the principle of the two-state solution.
