KABUL, Afghanistan, (AP) – An ongoing battle in Helmand province has killed more than 100 suspected insurgents, bringing the Taliban death toll to more than 165 in the past two days, the U.S.-led coalition said Wednesday.

The ongoing clash began Tuesday morning when several dozen Taliban insurgents fired on Afghan and coalition forces with machine guns from buildings in the Musa Qala district, the coalition said.

Coalition aircraft and artillery pounded Taliban positions, and more than 104 insurgents have been killed so far, it said.
