LONDON (AP) — The IAAF says it has provisionally suspended Moroccan runner Mariem Alaoui Selsouli from the London Olympics after she tested positive for doping.

The governing body says Selsouli tested positive for the diuretic furosemide at the Paris Diamond League meeting on July 6.

Selsouli, who was a strong medal candidate in the 1,500 meters, has waived her right to have her backup urine sample tested.

The IAAF says Selsouli “still has the right to request a hearing which needs to be held by the Moroccan Athletic Federation within the next three months.”
