ABU DHABI – Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan met on Monday with Crown Prince of Bahrain Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The two officials discussed bilateral ties and the means to strengthen cooperation at all levels.

Talks also touched on the current regional situation, especially on issues related to the security and stability of countries of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC).

Sheikh Mohamed praised the solid and fraternal historical ties that combine the UAE, with its leadership and people, with the Kingdom of Bahrain, while assuring that the security of all the Gulf Arab countries was indivisible.

“We take a combined journey to development and advancement while connecting the Gulf countries and their peoples, and presenting a positive and luminous example, in a region that suffers from chaos and violence,” Sheikh Mohamed said.

He added that all external plans that target Bahrain, with its government and people, would fail thanks to the wise leadership of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the solidarity of Gulf countries.

Sheikh Mohammed recalled the role of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in building the bridges of communication and brotherhood between the countries, and his founding of a solid base of bilateral cooperation that today reached exceptional stages.

During the session, Prince Salman praised the UAE’s current development vision and accomplishments.

The discussion was attended by Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, as well as a number of ministers and high officials. It was also attended by members of the delegation from Bahrain.
