King Salman Receives Commander of US Central Command

King Salman Receives Commander of US Central Command

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received a telephone call yesterday from German Chancellor Angela Merkel, with whom he discussed regional issues and efforts to achieve security and stability.

Chancellor Merkel praised the role of the Saudi Kingdom in unifying the Syrian opposition as well as its efforts to bring peace to Syria.

King Salman also received a phone call from the British Prime Minister, David Cameron. The two parties discussed means of boosting bilateral relations and establishing peace and stability in the region.

Later that day, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques received at Al-Yamamah palace the Commander of United States Central Command General Lloyd J. Austin. A number of issues of common interest were reviewed during the meeting.

Moreover, the Saudi King received the Indonesian Minister of Defense, Ryamizard Ryacudu, Malaysian Minister of Defense, Hishammuddin Hussein, and Deputy Minister of Defense of the Sultanate of Brunei, Lieutenant General Dato Abdulaziz Mohammed Tameet.

King Salman and three ministers reviewed the cooperation among them in the area of defense.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, Minister of State and Cabinet’s Member, Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of Culture and Information, Dr. Adel bin Zaid Altoraifi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, and a number of officials.
