Riyadh-Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud received at Al-Yamamah palace on Monday a delegation from the United States Congress headed by Senator Benjamin Cardin.
The US Congress delegation’s members included Democratic Senator of Massachusetts Edward Markey; Democratic senator of Oregon, Jeff Merkley and Republican Senator of Colorado Cory Gardner.
During the meeting, they reviewed the friendly relations between the Kingdom and the United States and the prospects for cooperation between the two countries.
The audience was attended by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Interior Minister; Minister of State and Cabinet’s Member Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban; Minister of Culture and Information Dr Adel bin Zaid Altoraifi; Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir; and US Charge d’Affairs Timothy Linder King
On the other hand, HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, reviewed with the US Congress delegation a number of issues pertaining to bilateral relations between the Saudi Arabia and the United States and ways of enhancing coordination towards issues of common interest, including the two countries’ efforts in combating terrorism. The audience was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir; Abdul Rahman Al-Rubaian Deputy Interior Minister; Head of the General Intelligence Presidency, Khalid bin Ali al-Humaidan; and Deputy Director General Investigation Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Ali Al-Qarni.
For his part, HRH Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense also met with the US congress delegation, led by Senator Benjamin Cardin.
During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the Kingdom and USA, in addition to a number of issues of common interest.
The meeting was attended by Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, the Foreign Minister; US Charge d’Affairs Timothy Linder King and a number of officials.
