In response to the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the King Salman Centre for Relief and Humanitarian Aid has transferred 16 Yemenis from Taiz to Sudan to receive treatment.

The second group of wounded Yemenis from the governorate of Taiz left Aden International Airport for Sudan yesterday afternoon in order to receive treatment there at the centre’s expense and follow ups will be made by the centre’s office in Aden.

In turn, the Governor of Taiz Ali Al-Mimari praised the centre for sponsoring the treatment of the second group of injured Yemenis abroad and paying for the treatment and travel costs of 16 wounded people and their escorts.

For his part, the director of the King Salman Centre for Relief and Humanitarian Aid’s Aden office Saleh Al-Zhiyabi said that the transfer of these injured Yemenis to Sudan is an extension of the centre’s work to support the Yemeni nation in various humanitarian fields. He also indicated that the health of Yemenis is one of the centre’s priorities and it therefore treats wounded Yemenis outside of Yemen in hospitals in Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Sudan.

He added that the centre has signed agreements with private hospitals in Aden and Taiz so that the injured can be treated in them. He also confirmed that the centre strives to help government hospitals in Yemen carry out their duty to provide the sick and wounded with health services by supplying them with equipment and medical supplies. Al-Zhiyabi said “We have received 11 vehicles loaded with medical equipment and supplies for the Al-Jumhuri Hospital that came from Saudi Arabia and the first instalment contained 58 trucks for a number of Yemeni provinces to support government hospitals for their role in providing health services to our Yemeni brothers”.
