The King Salman Centre for Relief and Humanitarian Aid provided the Basuhaib Hospital in Aden yesterday with 40 medical devices for kidney dialysis, treating the heart and carrying out x-rays.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Yemen Dr Ali Al-Walidi confirmed the importance of these devices and medical equipment which will contribute to increasing the efficiency of the medical and health facilities in the capital Aden and neighbouring provinces.

This assistance comes as an extension of medical assistance and services being provided by the King Salman Centre for Relief and Humanitarian Aid to Yemen.

In the context of providing medical services, the centre sponsored the transfer and treatment of 27 wounded Yemenis and their families to the Marwi medical city in Sudan, and a plane transporting the injured arrived in Khartoum on Wednesday.

The General Supervisor of King Salman Centre for Relief and Humanitarian Aid who is also an adviser at the royal court Dr Abdullah Al-Rabiah said that as an extension of the programmes offered by the centre to the health sector in Yemen, the centre has transported injured Yemenis who cannot be treated in Yemen to the Marwi medical city in Sudan. In cases that require it, some of the inured are accompanied by ten attendants. The centre is financing the transfer, treatment and return of these wounded people to Yemen after the end of the treatment period, and this is part of a joint executive programme with the Sudanese Red Crescent Society in coordination with the Yemeni Higher Committee for Relief which is represented by the Ministry of Public Health and the population of Yemen.

It is also worthy of mentioning that the centre also finances the treatment of injured and ill Yemenis in private sector hospitals in the provinces of Aden and Taiz. It also supports government health facilities across Yemen to treat men, women and children directly through the centre or through international and local partners.
