Jizan, Asharq Al-Awsat – The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, the Commander-in-Chief of the Saudi military, visited the frontline positions of the Saudi military forces stationed along the southern Saudi Arabian border, Wednesday. The King toured the frontlines in an open vehicle, visiting units of the Saudi military stationed there.

During a speech to the troops, King Abdullah stressed that the [Houthi] infiltrators, who he described as “terrorists”, have “transgressed in their error…” The King confirmed Saudi Arabia’s ability to protect itself and its people from “any abuser or corrupt [person] or terrorist for hire.”

King Abdullah also told members of the Saudi armed forces that “we have determined that you are ‘people of determination’ after God…”

At the end of his visit, King Abdullah announced the construction of 10,000 housing units for the people who were evacuated from their homes in Jizan for their own safety, due to the military conflict with the [Houthi] infiltrators in the region. King Abdullah decreed that the construction of these housing units be completed within one year. This project also includes the construction of mosques, schools, health centres, and others public facilities.

In his speech welcoming King Abdullah to the frontlines, the commanding officer of the military forces in Jizan, Major General Hussein Bin Mohammed Al Maalawe confirmed that “all armed forces stationed along the southern border are carrying out their important and assigned duty of defending the border in unison with the concept of joint military operations. [This is] based upon Saudi Arabia’s active policy that it does not transgress against anybody, and at the same time does not accept anybody – whoever it may be – desecrating even one inch of its land.”

Major General Al Maalawe also confirmed that the members of the armed forces who are stationed along the border “are applying all the tactics required by the combat situation and have achieved objectives, with the guidance of God and then with good guidance and constant follow-up by the rulers [of Saudi Arabia].”
