Riyadh, Asharq Al-Awsat—Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, cut short his private holiday in Morocco and returned to Jeddah on Friday due to “the repercussions of the events that are currently take place in the region,” according to the state Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

King Abdullah was received by Prince Miteb bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Mecca Governor Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, and a number of princes and senior officials at King Abdulaziz International Airport.

At his palace, King Abdullah was received by Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal and a number of princes and senior officials.

King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz had deputized Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, deputy prime minister and minister of defence, to administer the affairs of the state and take care of the interests of the people during his absence.
