Haider al-Abadi, prime minister of Iraq, declared his country’s right to all “available options.”
Sources told <Asharq Al-awsat>that he gave a 48 hour deadline for Turkish troops near Mosul to withdraw, saying he would call on the UN Security Council to interfere if Ankara did not take action.

Sources said: “There are armed Iraqi groups planning to kidnap an important Turkish figure in Baghdad, which aims to force Ankara to withdraw from Iraq.” They also pointed out that emergency meetings were being held over the issue.
Sources added that the threats came after “Political efforts to resolve this crisis failed” in addition to “the political and sectarian dispute rising due to the Turkish presence in the face of the Iranian one.”
