TEHRAN, Iran (AP) – Iran’s reformists are calling for a high turnout in the June 12 presidential election to end Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s era that brought isolation and economic demise to the country.

Reformist campaign posters on Tehran streets warn that a low turnout would mean the hardline president gets to stay in power.

The posters urge the young to go to the polls and vote for change.

Three prominent candidates are competing against Ahmadinejad and the stage has been set for a showdown between reformists and hard-liners who have both criticized the current president.

The two reformist candidates, Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mahdi Karroubi, have called for change. Conservative candidate, Mohsen Rezaei, has vowed to “save” Iran’s economy.
