TEHRAN,(Reuters) – Iran test fired three new missiles on Friday, the second day of military exercises in the Gulf, state radio said.

Different kinds of land-to sea and sea-to sea missiles were successfully test fired, including Kousar, Noor and Nasr missiles,” a senior Revolutionary Guards commander, Brigadier-General Fadavi, told state radio. “The range of the missiles has been increased from 120 km (75 miles) to 170 km (106 miles). Definitely they cover the whole area of the Gulf and the Gulf of Oman,” he said.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards fired missiles carrying cluster warheads at the start of 10 days of military manoeuvres on Thursday.

Days before, the United States led naval exercises in the Gulf to practise blocking the transport of weapons of mass destruction.
