BAGHDAD, Iraq, AP -Insurgents targeted two Iraqi police patrols in Baghdad Friday, leaving at least five people dead.

Police said a morning patrol came under fire in the eastern Ghadeer neighborhood. Two officers were killed and another wounded, said 1st Lt. Ali Abbas.

Clashes also erupted between insurgents and a joint Iraqi police-army patrol in the southern Dora neighborhood. Two suspected insurgents were killed and three others arrested, police said. A soldier and a police officer were wounded, Capt. Jassim Al-Wahash said.

In another incident, one policeman was killed and two others injured during a drive-by shooting in eastern Baladiyat, according to Capt. Maher Abdel-Satar.

Two bodies with bullets in their heads were found early Friday near Baghdad”s Shiite enclave of Sadr City, said Lt. Col. Hafidh Maan. The bodies were dressed in civilian clothing, he said.
