Houston-The Houston-based Saudi Refining, Inc., has announced that it would donate $5 million to the American Red Cross to support relief efforts for hurricane ”Katrina” victims.

&#34We support the Red Cross in its tireless efforts to meet the urgent needs of those who have been so tragically affected by Hurricane Katrina,&#34 Sharaf Salamah, the company”s president and chief executive, was quoted as saying in a statement issued here today by Dow Jones Newswires.

&#34Saudi Refining Inc., joins other Houston-area companies, organizations and individuals that have mobilized relief efforts on behalf of those impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Katrina,&#34 the statement said.

Saudi Refining has a 50% interest in Motiva Enterprises LLC, which operates refining and marketing interests along the Gulf Coast. The company is a subsidiary of Saudi Aramco.
