GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) – Hamas security officials say Israeli aircraft have attacked smuggling tunnels in the Gaza Strip.

No injuries have been reported.

The Israeli military has no immediate comment. Earlier Thursday, the military said militants fired two rockets at Israel from Gaza. No one was hurt.

Gazans use the tunnels under the border with Egypt to smuggle weapons, food and other goods into the blockaded territory.

Ending the arms smuggling was one objective of the three-week military offensive Israel recently conducted in Gaza.

An informal cease-fire ended the war. But there has been sporadic violence since.
