Aden- Yemeni President Abed Rabbu Mansour Hadi on Monday received US Ambassador to Yemen Matthew Tueller and Russian Ambassador Vladimir Dedushkin separately and discussed with them a number of issues related to bilateral relations and latest developments, including the peace process in the country.

During his meeting with the US ambassador, the Yemeni president stressed his constant commitment to peace based on the Gulf Initiative, the outcome of the national dialogue and relevant UN resolutions, mainly UN Security Council Resolution 2216.

Hadi also praised efforts deployed by the US administration in support of Yemen and its unity, as well as in facing challenges to end the rebellion and eradicate all forms of extremism and terrorism.

The US ambassador, for his part, reiterated his country’s support for Yemen and its constitutional legitimacy represented by President Hadi.

He also hailed the government’s stances and positive endeavors towards the establishment of peace and stability in the country.

Hadi discussed with the Russian ambassador a number of issues related to the situation in Yemen and the peace process. Dedushkin stressed that the meeting came within the framework of coordination and consultation, discussing possible prospects of peace available in Yemen and supporting the efforts of the United Nations in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions.

He also reiterated Russia’s firm position on the need to support Yemen to consolidate its legitimate leadership until security, stability and peace are achieved.
