Manama-Commander of the Saudi security forces taking part in Arab Gulf Security-1 drills Brigadier Shayie bin Salem al-Wad’ani, said that Saudi Arabia is keen to lead and participate in the security exercise for being important to coordinate and integrate Gulf security forces.

Speaking on the occasion of commencing the military exercises on Sunday, Shayie said the exercises aim to enhance the response of (Gulf Cooperation Council) GCC countries to different security situations.

The brigadier added that the operations will help in confronting terrorist plots targeting the security and stability of the GCC member states.

The First Gulf Joint Exercise for Security Agencies of the GCC being held under the title ” Arab Gulf Security-1” and hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain continued its activities with the participation of security forces from the six Gulf states.

Shayie explained that the exercises are executed for the first time and that a few difficulties took place, yet he praised the role of the kingdom of Bahrain in dealing with any problem that might occur and in maintaining high-level organization and support.

The exercise includes Saudi security forces for anti-terrorism, and other forces specialized in protecting land and sea borders, as well as the security of public and economic facilities, and a range of different gunboats.
