Taiz – Yemeni Minister of Local Administration and Chairman of the Higher Committee for Relief Abdul Raqib Fatah, said that Houthi and Saleh militias confiscating aid convoys and creating customs facilities in the capital Sana’a are a terrorist crime.

“Citizens in besieged provinces can no more endure terrorism — the tight siege imposed by militias on these provinces and their control over state institutions led to deterioration of the humanitarian and health condition,” he said.

He revealed that the Higher Committee for Relief discussed with UN organizations seeking solutions and alternatives to deliver the humanitarian aid to provinces ruled by militias. Militias have captured a huge number of aid convoys presented by the GCC countries through UN organizations.

The committee “is coordinating with all donors to deliver aid to all provinces including Sana’a,” he affirmed.

He demanded the international community and UN organizations to put pressure on militias to allow the access of aid for the besieged people in San’a and other provinces.
