Berlin – The German government asserted its support to peace efforts in Yemen, according to international agreements, and maintaining security, stability and unity of the war torn country.

Following a meeting with Yemen’s Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid bin Daghr in Berlin on Tuesday, German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel underlined the support to the legitimate Yemeni government and UN efforts to achieve peace.

He also affirmed that Germany will continue to provide relief and urgent aid to fight cholera and other diseases in the country.

The Yemeni PM renewed his accusation that Iran is supporting Saleh and the Houthi coup. It stands behind the ongoing war through its armed support to the insurgents in their attempt to seize Yemen and its naval facilities to jeopardize international security and marine navigation.

Daghr and Gabriel also discussed political, economic and relief support that the German government can offer Yemen.
