Riyadh – Foreign Ministers of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will discuss the preparatory meetings for the US-Gulf Summit and the Arab-Islamic-US Summit to be held on Sunday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The ministers will hold their 143rd session in Riyadh on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Bahraini foreign minister and the chairman of the current session and the participation of GCC Secretary General Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.

The gatherers will also discuss GCC resolutions.

In a statement on Monday, Zayani said that they will address the ongoing preparations for the consultative meeting that will be held in Riyadh, in addition to the GCC-US Summit, and the Islamic-US Summit, which will be hosted by Riyadh on May 21, during the visit of US President Donald Trump to the kingdom.

He added that they will tackle several reports related to the resolutions of the GCC Supreme Council, memos and reports submitted by the ministerial committees and the Secretariat General, and other topics related to the strategic dialogues between the GCC, other countries and international blocs.

The ministers will also tackle the latest regional and international developments and ways to strengthen international efforts to combat terrorism.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz hoped the GCC consultative meeting on Sunday will consolidate Gulf unity and that the Gulf-US summit will enhance relations and further boost efforts to achieve stability, security and peace in the region.
