BEIRUT, Lebanon (AP) – Lebanese security officials say an explosion from a bomb hidden in a garbage bin has wounded a passer-by in a Palestinian refugee camp near the southern port city of Sidon.

The officials say the attack occurred Friday afternoon in the Ein el-Hilweh refugee camp near the home of Imad Kharoub, a supporter of Jund al-Sham, a group that follows the extremist ideology of al- Qaeda. Kharoub was not hurt, the officials said on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

Three small bombs exploded in the camp Thursday night but did not cause any injuries.

Ein el-Hilweh in recent weeks has seen clashes between members of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah group and supporters of Jund al-Sham.
