The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed fraternal relations, ways of enhancing them and regional and international issues of common concern with King Abdullah II of Jordan during talks held yesterday evening in the capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi.

The meeting was attended by the National Security Advisor Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed King Abdullah II of Jordan and his accompanying delegation, and expressed his pride in the fact that strong fraternal relations linked the two countries. He also expressed his desire to see progression and development in these relations for the welfare and benefit of the two countries.

The two sides discussed strategic relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen, upgrade and expand them in order to achieve the goals and visions of the two countries, and establish foundations for mutual cooperation and solidarity. The meeting also addressed a number of current issues and developments and points of view on them.

At the end of the talks, both sides expressed their happiness at what had been achieved with regards to developing relations between the two countries, and said that they would like this development to be ongoing. They also expressed their desire for further growth and development in all fields, and the two sides stressed the importance of strengthening joint Arab efforts to confront challenges and risks in order to enhance security and stability in the region and consolidate the concepts of peace, tolerance, understanding and co-existence. The two sides also stressed the importance of international cooperation and coordination in dealing with the dangers of extremism and violence and fighting terrorist organisations and groups.
