JERUSALEM, (AP) – A man convicted of spying for Hezbollah has been released from an Israeli prison and is back in Lebanon.

Minutes after Nasim Nisr’s release Sunday, senior Hezbollah official Wafik Safa announced the remains of an unidentified number of Israeli soldiers had been handed over to Israel.

With Nisr standing next to him, Safa announced the return of the soldiers’ remains from the 2006 war between Israel and the militant group. Safa spoke live on Hezbollah’s Al-Manar television from the Lebanese coastal border town of Naqoura.

He stood next to a brown box which he said contained the remains.

Nisr was born to a Jewish Lebanese mother and a Shiite father. He was in prison in Israel for six years.
