ALGIERS, Algeria (AP) – A law enforcement official says the chief of Algeria’s national police force has been shot and killed by a colleague.

The official says Ali Tounsi was killed Thursday during a meeting in his office at the North African nation’s security headquarters in the capital, Algiers.

The official says two other people were injured in the attack. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to give information to the media.
