Manama-Speaker of the Council of Representatives Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla has urged all Bahraini factions to be united and rally behind the leadership.

Al-Mulla called on political and human rights associations, civil society institutions, community leaders, columnists, media figures, journalists and citizens to back all the measures taken by the authorities in the kingdom for the sake of maintaining national unity, rule of the law, reinforcing security and stability, and protecting the rights and freedoms of the citizens and residents.

He warned that Bahrain is not immune from plots, stressing that countries that have failed in protecting their security and stability are currently suffering from bloody civil wars, internal conflicts and sectarian strife and are witnessing the presence of terrorist organizations that wreak havoc on earth.

The Speaker added that allied countries are the only ones that enjoy stability, which, he said, compels Bahrain, countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), as well as Islamic and friendly states to enhance their joint action to achieve security and stability across the region.

He urged the Bahraini people to contribute to the defense of national achievements made by the kingdom in various fields thanks to the Reform Project spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Constitution and the National Action Charter which was approved by 98.4 percent of the Bahraini people.

Al-Mulla also warned of being affected by media outlets and satellite channels that are backed by political regimes and terrorist groups seeking to tamper with Bahrain’s security and stability, urging caution on the misleading news and information aimed at undermining national unity and igniting sectarianism.

The Speaker of the Council of Representatives called for the need to rally behind the leadership, support the decisions of the judicial authorities and the measures taken by ministries and government departments to rectify the political process, keep the religious pulpit away from sectarianism and deter those who seek sedition and attempt to break the law.

Thanks to the concerted patriotic efforts of its cohesive people, Bahrain is capable of thwarting all attempts to undermine its social fabric, he said.

Al-Mulla urged all sides to work for the nation’s interest, counter calls aimed at sowing divide and deepening differences among members of the Bahraini people, stressing the need to strengthen the principles of tolerance and peaceful coexistence and deepen love and fraternity among all factions.
