United Nations-UN”s Secretary General Kofi Annan has welcomed the progress attained in drafting the Iraqi permanent constitution.

A spokesman for the UN said Annan hoped that the concerned parties would reach an agreement that meets the aspirations of the Iraqi people.

”It is hoped that the additional time offered by the Iraqi Transitional National Council will make it possible to draft the constitution”, said the spokesman.
