Amman, Asharq Al-Awsat- Members of two terrorist groups affiliated with Al-Qaeda will stand trial next week in Jordan, for their involvement in terror attacks in the country.

The State Security Court will try fourteen suspects, including one woman, who were allegedly responsible for an attack in the port of Aqaba, where a Jordanian soldier was killed.

A second group of three alleged terrorists will be tried for their involvement in the killing of sixty people in three separate attacks on hotels in the capital Amman.

Thirteen men, including Abu Musab A-Zarqawi, will be tried in absentia for their involvement in the terror attacks.

A-Zarqawi, leader of Al-Qaeda in Iraq, is the most wanted terrorist in Iraq by the Americans. The Jordanian national has been responsible for most of the terrorist attacks in Iraq since the American-led invasion in 2003. He was already tried in absentia and sentenced to death by a Jordanian court in 2004, for his direct involvement in the murder of Laurence M. Foley, the director of the US Agency for International Development programs in Jordan.
