Riyadh-Asharq Al-Awsat London-based newspaper won the” best photography” award in 2015 Hajj season for submitting photography of Al-Khayf Mosque taken by the newspaper’s photographer Ahmed Hashad.

The photo was published on the front page of the newspaper on September 23, 2015.

Al-Khayf Mosque has a great historical value in Islamic history as Prophet Mohammed prayed and delivered speech during Farewell Pilgrimage, and several other prophets also prayed in this mosque before him.

The mosque is located at the foot of a mountain south of Mina, close to the smallest Jamarat.

It is considered the biggest mosque in Mina and the second biggest mosque among the holy sites.

Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Mohammed Benten sponsored the annual event for the heads and members of the pilgrimage affairs offices, the guests who attended greatest Hajj seminar and the winners of the ministry’s award for media work in 2015th Hajj season.

The event, which was held in Hilton hotel in Jeddah, was attended by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s agents and a number of officials.

Benten toured the exhibition that included achievements of the ministry’s departments and sectors in serving and taking care of pilgrims.

Benten also confirmed that serving the two holy mosques is a major policy for Saudi Arabia that is fulfilled continuously.

He hailed the intellectual talk that took place in the seminar this year that was concluded with a number of important recommendations that can be transformed into beneficial projects for the Islamic nation.

He noted the eminent role of Hajj media, which ministry has allocated an annual award for the best media work submitted, that contribute in assessing the work of Hajj system.
