Amman – In a familial ambiance full of affection and kindness, the “Out and About” group, which has various charitable activities, organized a group iftar event for elderly people in the White Beds Nursing Home in Amman.

The iftar aimed to draw a smile on the elderlies’ faces, make them happy, and raise awareness regarding those abandoned people who need special care and attention from the whole community.

Members of “Out and About” prepared an iftar meal composed of rice and chicken for the nursing home’s residents, and followed it with an amusement evening to entertain them.

Commenting on the event, Amal Hmaidan, a volunteer from the group told Reuters TV during the iftar: “Our emotions are confused. We feel happy for making something special for them, but we also feel sad about their loneliness at this age after they retired. They probably feel forgotten and abandoned.”

Residents of the nursing home expressed their deep happiness and gratitude for the visit of the young ladies and gentlemen. One old man, Mohamed, said: “They entertain us. We wish they can spend their night here because they make us happy and take care of our meals. Yesterday, they accompanied us to a feast. May Allah bless them”

White Beds Nursing Home for elderly was established in Jordan in 1979 and hosts over 120-130 residents.
