London, Asharq Al-Awsat- Prince Mohammed ibn Nawaf ibn Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Kingdom and Ireland, celebrated with his wife Princess Fadwa bint Khaled ibn Abduallah Al-Saud, the graduation of their twin daughters Princess Masha’il and Princess Madhawi from Columbia University in New York, earning their Masters Degrees in Early Childhood Special education with a specialization in cognitive development.

The Princesses earned their degrees with ‘International Honors’, one of the highest academic distinctions bestowed by Columbia University upon students from outside the United States.

Princesses Masha’il and Madhawi completed their academic requirements during the fall term in November 2008. However, their commencement and graduation ceremony was held at the end of spring term in May 2009, in line with University tradition.

Prince Mohammed thanked God for what he has given his daughters in success and distinction, expressing his abundant happiness for their success in reaching their academic targets.

Prince Mohammed said that his happiness does not stem solely from the fact that his daughters have attained their academic qualification, but also from the fact that they attained it with excellence and distinction. Moreover, Prince Mohammed highlighted the field of specialization that they chose, and what it reflects in humane and caring characteristics. Prince Mohammed ibn Nawaf said that his happiness was doubled when he knew that his daughters decided to put the academic knowledge they gained in the field of dealing with learning disabilities during childhood, to practical use in supporting educational development in Saudi Arabia.

In addition to earning their Masters Degrees in the same field and from the same university, Princesses Masha’il and Madhawi attended ‘Boston College’ in Massachusetts, United States together where they got their Bachelors degrees in the same double major, which is human development and Italian literature.
