The Islamic Arabic Institute in Tokyo Holds Festival | ASHARQ AL-AWSAT English Archive 2005 -2017

Tokyo, Asharq Al-Awsat-The Islamic Arabic Institute in Tokyo, an affiliate of Imam Mohammad bin Saud Islamic University, held its third Arabic language festival, which also included a graduation ceremony for its students.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Japan Faisal bin Hassan Terad , Dean of the Foreign Institutes in Imam University Dr.Ibrahim Al-Sa’adan, the Director of the Institute Dr.Mohammad bin Hassan Al-Zeer and a number of Arab Ambassadors, accredited to Japan.

Terad expressed his happiness, affirming that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia believes in what makes the peoples of the world come closer and forge more understanding toward each other, pointing out to King Abdullah’s call to condemn the idea of the clash of civilizations and his appeal for peaceful co-existence and dialogue among all peoples of the world.

Terad noted that language is one of the most important tools for dialogue and the role of the Institute in Japan is to teach Arabic language and Islamic culture to Japanese people and this makes a cultural bridge between the Saudi and Japanese peoples.

On his part, the Representative of Chairman of the Council of Ministers Court expressed his appreciation for the constant efforts of the institute officials and students pointing out to the increasing interest in learning Arabic language.

He added that the institute plays an important role in spreading dialogue and understanding among the peoples.

The Islamic Arabic Institute holds its graduation ceremony on annual basis and the number of students who graduated this year is 24 male and female students.
